đĨī¸Session 1
Remember to schedule Sessions 2 and 3 after completing Session 1.
I. Review DocuSign Forms
Before the participant arrives, sign into DocuSign to review their forms.
Email: englelab@psych.gatech.edu
Password: operationspan!
If the forms are incomplete, have the participant fill them out when they arrive. Open a private browsing tab on one of the iPads and have them sign into their email to access the forms.
Use the Health Screening Form to add the participant's date of birth to the fMRI Subject Database.
Check this form to confirm they are right handeded.
Check the MRI Screening Form and MRI Contraindications Form to ensure the participant is safe to go in the MRI scanner for Session 3.
Reference the MRI Contraindications page of the lab manual.
If needed, clarify any "yes" answers from these forms with the participant when they arrive
If they're still eligible, add explanations for all cleared contraindications from the DocuSign forms to the "Contraindication Notes" section of the fMRI Subject Database.
If the participant is ineligible, kindly let them know and thank them for their interest. Cancel their session in Bookings and remove all their information from the fMRI Subject Database.
II. Greet the Participant
Ask the participant for their photo ID to confirm the correct person is here for their session.
Ask them to have a seat at the table.
Confirm we have the all the participant's information in the fMRI Subject Database.
III. Complete Demographics Form
Have the participant scan the QR code on the table labeled ONR fMRI Demographics with their phone camera, or give them an iPad from the control room to complete the form.
Make sure they scan the fMRI code, not the MURI code.
Ask the participant if they need their parking validated:
Write in the participant's name and voucher number from the top of the ticket.
Write in the name of whoever is supervising the shift under "Lab Representative".
Add a parking sticker to the ticket and give it back to the participant.
IV. Run Session 1
The participant can bring their belongings with them to the running room or leave them in the control room.
Reiterate their informed consent as you walk them to the running room.
Remind them that they are able to leave at any point if they do not wish to continue study participation.
Give them an overview of what they will be doing (a series of computer tasks that measure things like attention and working memory).
Remind them to not use and silence their phone during the session.
Highlight Session 1 in green in the fMRI Subject Database once the session is complete.
Green = session complete
Schedule Sessions 2 and 3 with the participant after completing Session 1.
