πŸ‘οΈβ€πŸ—¨οΈEye Tracking

Some of the tasks require you to calibrate an eye tracker. After you enter in the participant ID and session number, walk through the calibration with the participant. Participants do not need to remove their glasses for the eye tracker.

  1. The first screen will have two white circles in the black box. These are the participants eyes. Make sure the distance shown at the bottom of the box is between 60 and 70cm. Have the participant move their chair closer and further from the monitor to adjust this distance. Do not move the monitor.

  2. Wait for the eye tracker to pick up on both eyes. Tell the participant on the next screen there will be a red dot they need to follow with their eyes, then press enter. Try not to look at the eye tracker during this step.

  3. The next screen will show white circles with green lines and dots. Make sure there is a green line or dot in each circle, but none of the lines go out of the circles. Either select accept to start them on the task, or recalibrate. If you cannot get a good calibration after a few tries, start them on the task anyways and make a note in the log book.
