Greet the participant when they arrive and ask for their photo ID to confirm the correct person is here
Ask if they need parking validation
Review the following eligibility questions with them:
Are you between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of participation?
Would you be able to see flashes on a screen with no risk of seizure?
Do you have normal hearing/no history of hearing impairment?
Do you have normal or corrected-to-normal vision? (e.g. not colorblind)
Did you start learning English by the age of 5?
Have the participant scan the "MURI Demographics" QR code on the table labeled with their phone camera
In the MURI Subject Database, move the participant's information from the "New Bookings" sheet to "fMRI Subjects"
Provide the participant with a subject ID number for their survey
Add the their subject ID to the database
Once the participant completes the demographics survey, open the MURI Sessions 1 & 2 link
Choose an available time on the calendar with the participant
Have the participant fill in their details and answer the eligibility questions
Select "Book" to finish
Add the participant's Session 2 to the MURI Subject Database
Mark the “New Booking” message as “Read” in the lab email
The participant can bring their belongings with them or leave them in the control room
Reiterate their informed consent as you walk them to the running room
State they are able to take breaks or leave at any point if they do not wish to continue
Provide an overview of what they will be doing; a series of computer tasks that measure things like attention and working memory
Ask the participant to silence and put away their phone during the session
Seat the participant at a computer and leave a post-it note on their desk with the following information:
First Name
MURI Session 1
Subject ID
Add the participant's session information to the Running Room Log and update accordingly throughout the session

Using a flexible measuring band, measure the circumference of the participant’s skull in centimeters
Acquire verbal consent to touch their head
Start at the nasion (point between eyebrows directly above nose bridge) and wrap the measuring band once around the skull so that the band covers the inion in the back
Add the measurement to the MURI Subject Database
Open the MURI Session 3 link
Choose an available time on the calendar with the participant
Add the participants head circumference
Have the participant fill in their details and answer the hair description questions
Select "Book" to finish
Add the participant's Session 3 to the MURI Subject Database
Mark the “New Booking” message as “Read” in the lab email
The participant can bring their belongings with them or leave them in the control room
