Running EPrime Tasks ⌨️
  1. Open the task & enter the subject ID

  2. Keep the "Session" set as "1"

  3. Have the participant complete the task

  4. When then task ends with a red screen, press the “Q” key to properly exit the task (make sure "caps lock" is off)

Running MatLab Tasks ⌨️
  1. Open the task script and select "Run" at the top

  2. Enter the subject ID and press "enter"

  3. Have the participant complete the task

  4. The task will close and save automatically


Task Troubleshooting❗️

If you need to abort a task:

  • Use command “Ctrl + Alt + Shift”

  • If that does not work, use "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" to pull up task manager and stop the task from there

  • If the task is in MatLab, use "Alt+ Tab" and then type "asc" (this may take a few tries)

If a task crashes:

  • Record the problematic task/computer in the log book and alert a supervisor

  • If it's at the beginning, try reopening and running the task again

  • If the participant has already been doing the task for a while or it crashes again, move them on to the next task

  • If needed, move the participant to a different computer to run the task
